QTS Community Hub Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 15, 2026. Last updated: August 15, 2026.

This policy explains what information the QTS Community Hub collects, why it is collected, and what is done with it. The Hub is operated by Quality Tax Software (QTS), a Florida limited liability company. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Quality Tax Software (QTS), and "you" means a person who holds an account on the Hub.

The Hub is a private, invitation only community platform. It is available to tax professionals, Electronic Return Originators, service bureaus, resellers, and other business partners who have been invited by us. It is not open to the general public and it is not available to the taxpaying clients of our partners.

The Hub does not hold tax return information

The QTS Community Hub is a discussion and announcement platform. It is separate from our tax preparation software and it is not a place where tax returns are prepared, transmitted, or stored. No taxpayer records, Social Security numbers, bank account details, or return data are collected by the Hub or should ever be posted to it.

Any taxpayer information handled through our tax preparation products is governed by the separate agreements and privacy practices that apply to those products, not by this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you accept an invitation and create an account, you provide the following:

InformationWhy it is collected
Your name To identify you to other members on your posts and comments
Your email address To sign you in and to reach you about your account
Your password To secure your account. Passwords are stored only as a one way cryptographic hash and cannot be read by us or by anyone else with access to our systems.
An optional title or description Displayed beneath your name if you choose to add one

Information created by your use of the Hub

Notification information

If you choose to turn on notifications, your device gives us a subscription record consisting of a unique address for your device supplied by your browser or operating system, plus two encryption keys. This record identifies your device, not you personally, and is used solely to deliver notifications. You may turn notifications off at any time from the account screen, which deletes the record.

Standard server records

Our web host keeps ordinary server logs that may include your Internet Protocol address, browser type, and the pages you requested. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

2. What we do not do

3. How we use your information

We use the information described above only to operate the Hub. That means:

4. What other members can see

Members of a group can see your name, your optional title, and anything you post, comment, or like within the rooms of that group. They cannot see your email address, your password, your notification settings, or which other groups you belong to.

The Hub does not publish a member directory and does not display member counts. Members cannot browse a list of who else belongs to the Hub or to any group.

Administrators and moderators can see all content in all rooms and can remove posts and comments. Administrators can additionally see member email addresses and manage group access.

5. Service providers

A small number of outside services are involved in running the Hub. We do not sell information to any of them and none of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

ProviderRoleWhat it receives
Our web hosting provider Stores the Hub and its database All Hub data, held on our behalf under their hosting agreement
Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging Deliver notifications to your device The text of the notification, which includes the author name, room name, and an opening preview of the post
Google Fonts Supplies the typeface used on Hub pages Your Internet Protocol address, as part of the ordinary request for the font file

A note about notification content

When a notification is sent to your phone, the text of that notification passes through Apple's or Google's delivery systems before it reaches your device. Please keep this in mind and avoid posting confidential material in a way that would appear in a notification preview.

6. How your information is protected

No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a breach occurs that affects your information, we will notify you and any authority required by applicable law, without unreasonable delay.

7. How long information is kept

Account information is kept for as long as your account is active. Posts and comments remain until deleted by you, by an administrator, or until your account is removed.

When an account is deleted, the account record and everything posted or commented from it is permanently removed from the live database. Copies may persist in routine encrypted backups for a limited period before those backups are overwritten in the normal course.

8. Your choices and your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national privacy law, including the right to know what is collected, the right to correction, the right to deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We honor these requests from all members regardless of residence. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

9. Age requirement

The Hub is a professional platform intended only for adults conducting business with Quality Tax Software (QTS). It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen years of age. If we learn that such an account exists, we will remove it.

10. Where information is held

The Hub and its database are hosted in the United States. If you access the Hub from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and stored in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will additionally post a notice inside the Hub or send you an email. Continuing to use the Hub after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
